Our story

A salon built on listening,
one cup of coffee at a time.

Andy’s Hair has always been a small operation by design. We’d rather know your name, your kids’ names and what you’re reading right now than turn another chair every 30 minutes. Nine years on, you still get the same Andy at the door — just with a few more grey hairs.

The founder

Andy Okafor

Founder · Colour Director

Andy trained at Vidal Sassoon in 2010, spent four years in Paris cutting at Atelier Beaubourg, and came home to London with a clear idea — open the kind of salon he’d actually want to sit in himself.

He still cuts four days a week and runs every team training session personally. If you’ve had your colour done at Andy’s, chances are he’s been involved.

Philosophy

Four things we won’t compromise on.

Listen first

Every appointment starts with a real conversation, not a clipboard.

Craft over speed

We never double-book chairs. Quality of hair beats quantity of heads.

Kinder to everyone

Vegan, cruelty-free, low-tox products. Recycled foils, recycled hair.

Feel at home

Excellent coffee, comfy sofa, no judgement. Bring the dog.

The team

Four hands, four specialisms.

Cream styling chair and brass mirror inside Andy’s Hair

Our space

Five chairs, big windows, very good plants.

We took a Georgian shopfront on Redchurch Street and let it stay quiet — cream walls, polished concrete, warm brass and a backwash you could happily fall asleep in. There’s a record player. There’s a dog bed. There’s always a kettle on.
